This is a sad story and it shows graphically the situation facing Showmen in the North East, but is also a situation repeated across the country.

All the Showmen filmed here spoke clearly, including Michael O’Brien; Frank Smith and  Tina Manders; explaining the issues and the reporter,

Let’s hope that a wide audience can see the injustice that lies behind this report and  we call on audiences to ask why Showmen – who have proved that Social Distancing works, in the safety of the outside fresh air, also acknowledged by government departments and health experts – have been prevented from trading by some local authorities.

The work  of the Showmen’s Guild continues with  DCMS (The Department of Media Culture & Sport) in the Westminster Government and the Local Government Association (LGA); as well as with Holyrood; Senedd Cymru and Stormont and their Logov. associations; to address this for the 2021 season….
