Yesterday, Sunday 14th November, the Showmen’s Guild once again fielded their Contingent of delegates in the National Service of Remembrance and March Past at the Cenotaph.
They were drawn from Showmen across the country, with Veteran Thomas Rowland, joined by those representing both their own forbears who passed away and all the Showmen who served in both World Wars; especially those who made the ultimate sacrifice and those who have passed away since. It was a proud occasion for all those who marched and their supporters along the route; in addition to the presence of the Contingent, among the 10,000 from the Services and Civilians, being a proud occasion for the Showmen’s Guild nationally. The Showmen’s Guild is grateful to the Royal British Legion for their organisation of the event and our continued inclusion as part of the national commemoration.
The Showmen’s Guild is holding its own Service of Remembrance at the National Memorial Arboretum at Alrewas, Staffordshire next Sunday 21st November.
